Hi bloggers; How is it going? Today's post is one of the free topics you chose to write about: Environmental Conflicts. Well, in recent times the topic of environment problems has become a recurring topic  everywhere. One of the nearest ones that come to my mind is the one happening in Quintero. That is one of the most polluted zones of the country, where soil, air, water and everything is totally contaminated. The most serious consequences have been suffered by  the  local people, who have got seriously intoxicated. The problem became a national scandal when hundreds of inhabitants had to be sent to hospital with serious symptoms of poisoning.
After this event , government authorities promised to pass new laws and regulations  to compel oil  refinery in Ventanas  and some other mining companies to make changes in their processes.  Everybody made serious promises  not to go on contaminating any more. However, some months later, no mass media talk about the situation again. I hope to be wrong , but I don't believe a thing of what they promised. When they have to decide between making money and protecting people's lives  and environment, their decision is clear: Business is business. What do you think about it? Do you know any other environmental conflicts you can talk about? What can you say about them? Use 230 words and don't forget to leave comments on 3 classmates' and your teacher's  blogs. C U.

  12. For a future where we can live in good conditions, or at least those we have now, it is imperative to start making "those" changes now, especially in the criteria of people, making them remember their responsibility whit their world.
